Well, there shouldn’t be one single Villa player afraid of Roy Keane, unless, you’re a player who isn’t willing to put it in. After a while of watching Keane on the television, he doesn’t strike me as a person who would shout someone down; but, he definitely strikes me as someone who would get his point across to you in no uncertain terms without raising his voice.
You’ve probably heard and read things about Roy being a bully over the years, some of it might be true, especially in his playing days, but most football clubs had an enforcer in those days to keep everyone in line. Roy makes a very good point with the way he describes himself as a better Father to his 4th and 5th children and a better driver over his many years behind the wheel of a car. The longer you stick with something, the better you become at it.
Daryl Murphy, former Ipswich and Ireland striker said in a past interview, “Playing under Roy Keane is easy, if you work hard, he praises you. If you don’t, you get criticised. He’s a fairer man than people give him credit for.”
And that’s what I’m going to go with! You work hard, even if things don’t come off, you get a pat on the back. If you don’t, well, you are going to have to face the consequences. And let’s hope that people don’t mistake that for bullying because you’re being told you’re doing it wrong.
Look, lets embrace this man he’s a legend!!! Let’s take this as good news; God knows we deserve a little cheer. And remember, as long as you’re giving One hundred percent, ‘You Don’t Have To Be Afraid Of The Big Bad Roy Keane’. UTV
Nice post mate! I’ll definitely be Keane a chance. With what we’ve had to put up with all these years it’s actually put a smile on my face that he’s here at the villa. Welcome to the villa Roy. VTID
I agree with all that’s been said, but the worry I have is his other commitments like being a TV pundit and Martin Neil’s number 2 for Ireland …an assistant manager for a premier league club is a full time job
