I think we must win tonight, and not for the reasons most people will be thinking, relegation. We must win tonight, so the fans that support Aston Villa can gain some sort of ‘hope’ that there might be something inside the players that resemble a fight for the Villa cause, something that’s definitely lacking from the management and owner.
We must win tonight, because we’re playing at home for crying out loud!!! For too long, Villa were seen as a side that got results away from home because of the way we supposedly play a counter attacking game, I’ve always thought that was a load of rubbish. The saying ‘Home Advantage’ has no bearing for Villa anymore, and I blame the management and owner for that.
We must win tonight, because our status as a so-called ‘Big Club’ will be in jeopardy, something that fans from a few clubs foolishly cling on to. I say, to be a big club, you have to act like a big club and we don’t act like a big club anymore. I brought up this point because a fellow Villan brought it up with me. However, I blame the management and the owner for turning us into an insignificant football club that just exists.
We must win tonight, because if we lose the owner won’t sack Paul Lambert! Everyone can see that the manager isn’t up to the job, everyone except for Randy Lerner!!! With an owner like that, who constantly picks the wrong manager and rewards failure with a 4-year contract, leaves me feeling numb!!!
Having said that, I don’t think we’re going to lose against Southampton tonight, which means the pain of Paul Lambert continues. UTV
Been noticing how well our young players out on loan are doing – they’re playing, creating, and scoring. Wonder if they contact Grealish on his mobile while he’s sitting on the bench or in the stands watching Villa unable to score or create?
Sorry bits got saints win sall over it. And they will keep a clean sheet
Sorry I just can’t see a Villa win tonight. We will start the game with an energetic display from midfield, with a couple of half chances which Gabby and Weimann will have a stab at but with no real conviction of scoring. The game will settle down with Southampton controlling the midfield and starting to create meaningful chance after chance. Eventually after a backs to the wall defending display by us Southampton will get their goal which will reinvigorate us to a mini revival of creating a couple of decent chances. However we can’t convert them and Southampton go up and get their second goal. After that they see the game out pretty comfortably passing the ball around with us running ourselves into exhaustion chasing the ball. 10 out of 10 for effort.
Alas, we’ve seen it all too many times before …………………………………………..
Got to agree with Mark.
No chance of scoring and no chance of keeping a clean sheet gives us no chance of winning!!
For the last few seasons, we’ve been saying “We must win the next game against (inset any club)”
Don’t you just get sick of the struggle season after season? And then listen to Lambert come out with “Teams have little ropey spells they will come through”
Some one should remind him, our ropey spell has lasted over two seasons with him in charge, he’s not worried how we do, his job is safe under an owner who has no idea what he’s doing, apart from trying to get his money back twofold.
A club of no significance !!!!! Oh how we have fallen.
