I’m sure you are aware, that in life, there will always be people who wont agree with what you might say or do. No matter how positive or profound a statement you might make, there will always be someone out there who will disagree with you, and they wouldn’t care to give you the time of day again, ever again. The same goes for a football club choosing a new manager, not everyone will be happy with the choice of the man put into the hot seat.
I think the majority of Villa fans will accept and get behind Tim Sherwood as Aston Villa manager, and the one’s who are underwhelmed at his appointment, well, that’s just too bad, but I accept your opinion. It really is all hands to the pump now, and I know the support will be overwhelmingly behind Sherwood as he takes his first game in-charge as Villa manager, and ‘God Only Knows’, our football club, our AVFC, really needs the fans behind them now!
But Sherwood seems to where his heart on his sleeve, and this was shown in his post match interviews when Spurs were more than likely on the end of a defeat. I’d trade that passion in for any day of the week, especially after having to listen to Paul Lambert drone out the same old trodden lines for the last few years, whether we won or lost. It’s great to see a manager ruffling a few feathers, falling out with managers on the sidelines, upsetting the referees and the FA on occasions.
I don’t want to portray Sherwood as a raving lunatic; he’s had experience managing a Premiership football club after all, even if it was only for a short period of time. I would say he is mostly in control of his emotions, and when he’s not, he might use it for effect or to drive a point home. He was also part of the coaching staff when Tottenham and Harry Redknapp were having a good run in the league and Europe. And all the sound bites were positive of Sherwood’s coaching abilities, and when he was in the hot seat, you’re there to be shot at and ridiculed.
The more I reacquaint myself with Sherwood as a footballer, and his time at Tottenham as a player and then a coach, the more positive I’m feeling about his appointment. I really do believe that If Lambert had of stayed at Aston Villa, we would have gone down into the Championship, but now we’ve got Sherwood, I do believe that we’ve got a good chance of staying up, and for you out there who are finding it hard to give this man a chance, I suggest you try to find some positives in his appointment. UTV
lets all get behind him and roar the team on we are all villa fans .
