Writing for the Villa Blogger these days is getting less unfortunately. I pick up my computer and try to force something to write, but I can’t, I have to write from the heart, even when I’m taking the Michael. Also, and more to the point, my time is very busy. So trying to keep up with all things Villa is very difficult for me, especially when I have a lot of other things going on in my life.
This isn’t a goodbye message, I’m just letting you guys know why my content isn’t as prolific as some of the other Villa Blogs out there God bless them. I don’t know how they do it, their passion for the Villa is unbelievable and it’s reflected in their social media presence and high quality content they put out on their websites.
While I’m on here, I think it would only be fair to let you know where I stand regarding the position of our manager Di Matteo, as some of the Villa faithful seem to be getting a little restless and might want to pull the trigger on Roberto’s short reign here at the Villa.
Results haven’t gone the way most of us would have liked, and conceding late goals has got to an all-new level that’s just unbelievable, but do I want RDM sacked? No is my answer, in fact, I hope the board here at the Villa give him the whole season.
RDM has recruited well, his backroom staff with the likes of Steve Clarke and Kevin Bond is a big factor for me as to why I think we’ll get it right here eventually. And what about the players? Well it’s the best bunch we’ve bought in a long time; I don’t think it’s going to be too long before we start firing on all cylinders.
I just think if the Villa fans can lay off the players if a result doesn’t go our way, it’ll make a huge difference as to how quick they’ll develop individually and as a side. That doesn’t mean they can’t be pulled up within the heat of a game, but this collective booing at half time or at the end of a match could create a split between the players and fans, they need to know that we’re behind them all the way.
