As an Aston Villa fan, I’m buzzing to see Marcus Rashford back in the England squad – and it’s all thanks to his loan move to Villa Park. When he arrived from Manchester United in January, I’ll admit I was skeptical. He’d gone stale at Old Trafford, his spark dimmed by inconsistency and a rocky relationship with Ruben Amorim. But under Unai Emery, he’s been a revelation for us. His assists, tireless work off the ball, and a hunger that’s lit up our attack – it’s no wonder Thomas Tuchel couldn’t ignore him for the World Cup qualifiers.
But this recall might never have happened if he’d stayed put. At United, he was stuck in a rut, sidelined and uninspired. Villa gave him a fresh start, and Emery’s tactical nous has unlocked the Rashford we’d almost forgotten – dynamic, dangerous, and driven. From the four conners of Villa Park, we’ve seen him thrive, and now England gets to reap the rewards. Well done Marcus! UTV
