So how long are we going to have to wait before we know who our next manager is going to be? As usual, the people of Aston Villa are going to take their time before they appoint our next manager. A supposed ten-man list has been made up, which will then be whittled down to an unfortunate few, they’ll be given their interviews and one brave man will be handed his death sentence.
Our stock is at an all time low, and I wonder why any aspiring manager who is currently employed by a football club and doing ok, would want to come to a club like ours that can turn toxic within a drop of a hat, get the sack, and then have their reputation put back many years potentially ruining their career.
Money could have a lot to do with it, and we must be paying big wages! But if I were in charge, I wouldn’t waste my time on interviews and ruing aspiring managers careers, I would go for someone who’s been there and done it, and three candidates spring to mind, Sam Allardyce, Steve Bruce, and just until he gets us back into the Premier League, Neil Warnock.
So listen Villa board, forget the interviews, forget the risk of any aspiring manager, and forget any Premier League manager that will tell us to sling our hooks if we dare invite him to take an interview to manage our club!!! Do you know how pretentious I feel that makes us look? We’re not big time anymore! So just go out there and get one of those three candidates and let them build and mould a team spirit that will eventually get us back into the top league, got it!
Absolute spot on Glenn, first bit of sense I’ve read! Let’s hope our deluded leaders read this……as for our fan base hmmm. Think Big Sam is damaged goods at the moment but I’d pay for the other two to come on down.
