Villa fans have had to put up with a lot for many years, so when any little or major transformation occurs, the feelings and views of supporters can be varied and greeted with scepticism, which can be mistaken for negativity by others. The way in which Villa have been playing their football lately, has fallen back into an all too familiar pattern, which makes it difficult for many Villa fans to realise that the journey back to the promised land, might take longer than they thought.
Until the Villa squad find some kind of winning consistency on the field of play, the Villa faithful will continue with their differing reasons as to why things are not changing for the better, no one is right or wrong on this matter. But one thing has to change at Villa Park, and that’s the general vibe that the fans create. I was pleased to see that most of the Villa faithful gave Steve Bruce a very warm welcome, but there was some reluctant booing at the end of the game lets say, and this really has to stop!
Are there any positives to be taken since Bruce took charge of his first match? Yes, Bruce was ever-present on the touch-line, giving out his orders and encouraging the players to not give up, I especially noticed this in the second half when we were under the cosh. I don’t know if this is a false illusion, but it made me feel like someone down there in the dugout, had some real control over our situation. Also, his post match interviews pretty much tallied up with how must of us saw the match.
One thing Bruce said in his interviews, which was quite alarming, was how unfit he thought some of the players were. A friend of mine, who I go to Villa Park with, has been saying this through gritted teeth for quite some time now. I never really got my head around his point of view, but all those late goals that we’ve conceded this season and Steve Bruce saying it now, it makes sense really.
It comes to something when I don’t know what to expect when we play Reading on Tuesday evening, but that’s just the way it goes! Bruce and the Villa squad are back to square one and it could take a little time before Bruce’s management style and ideas start to have a real effect on the way we play. But given time from the fans and the Doctor, I believe and hope he’ll get it right eventually, and who knows, it might start with a win Tuesday night. UTV
Quality comment. You are quite correct
Absolutely right. I’ve booed in the past but it’s time to realise we have no divine right to be up there. I think if we reset our expectations to maybe, it could take two seasons to get back up, we could all relax a little and this could reflect upon the team. I think there is no doubt that the new owner will do what’s necessary, but it could take a little time.
Until certain players are removed and replaced with Murphy Green
the toxic flops keep producing the same results. Until the Jan window
Avfc are relying on proven failures The intensity that Bruce needs won’t
Come from these players .nothings changed and it’s needed asap
You’re the first fan to have said this. I would Knight you for it had I the crown jewels (The other crown jewels!!). I Have been bantering on about this for years as a parent, you don’t boo or shout down your kids do you. The players are human. If you’re boss kept booing you what would you do????.
Quality comment !!
The lunging tackles that constantly get our players booked are also down to lack of fitness – it’s the only way they can stop a player accelerating away from them.
