Tomorrow night’s clash under the lights at Villa Park isn’t just another game—it’s yet another must-win moment in our pursuit of Champions League football. And let’s be honest, if we manage to get the job done against Newcastle, the next game will be another must-win too. That’s the nature of this run-in. Every game from here on out is massive. There’s no margin for error.
Standing in our way this time? Newcastle United. And I’ve got to say—they’re in brilliant form right now. Unbeaten in their last six, and playing with confidence and cohesion. They’ve hit their stride at exactly the wrong time for us. But Villa aren’t exactly stuttering either. We’ve only lost once in our last ten games in all competitions, and there’s a belief about this team that you can feel. Even in tough moments, we’ve dug in and found ways to win.
So who’s the favourite? I’d just about give Villa the edge—but only just. We’ve got home advantage, and the crowd will be right up for it. But we have to be at it from the first whistle. No more of this one-half-on, one-half-off stuff. We’ve seen it before this season—brilliant in patches but punished when we let our standards drop. That won’t cut it here.
This is the business end now. Every point counts. Every performance matters. And if we’re serious about getting back into the Champions League, this is the kind of night where we need to show it. UTV
Too close to call really but I would agree and make Villa slight favourites. Not too confident seeing that Newcastle are our bogey team but if we take it to them from the off with the same intensity that we did against PSG we could do it. I suppose at the end of the day it’s who wants it most
Agreed mate. Hopefully it’s us that wants in more. UTV
NUFC fan here. This one feels like it has draw written all over it. Both teams in great form and both teams desperate to return to UCL. Great to see 3 unfashionable teams in us, yourselves and Forest amongst the faves with a few games to go though.
Good luck in the REST of the remaining games, hope you make it, just not at our expense.
Hopefully at Chelsea’s
Thanks, mate! Good luck to you too. I reckon my side has a decent shot at the Champions League, but it might come down to overtaking Nottingham Forest. They’ve lost their last two, and the pressure’s on them. Monday night when they play Spurs will tell me more.
