My Quick Reaction To Aston Villa’s Late Loss

Just a quick reaction to that late defeat to Manchester City. Honestly, I can’t help but feel we were the architects of our own downfall tonight. With the form we’ve been in lately, we really could’ve gone toe-to-toe with City, rather than sitting back, defending deep, and relying on the counter.

All this slowing down of the game—it’s not a great tactic, especially when you’ve just demolished Newcastle like we did at the weekend. We’re in the form of our lives. Sometimes, you’ve got to back yourselves, take the game to the opposition.

I wasn’t even really thinking about a draw going into this one. I’ll need to sleep on it and properly review the game tomorrow, try and make sense of it all. Just feeling a bit naffed off with it right now. UTV

  1. What I can’t understandis, why insn’t Watkins playing at C.F. with the M.City man on the wing. Two players togther that would scare any side.

    • Good shout. Can’t say for sure, but I do get the feeling there might be a bit of tension between Watkins and Emery. I’d hate to think Emery’s punishing Watkins for anything—hopefully it’s just tactical decisions and nothing more
