Isn’t it lovely to be a party pooper, well that’s what Villa exactly was. It seems that no one out there gave us a chance to win this match yesterday, including people who were very close to this club. There are former Villans out there in privileged high-profile media positions who should be rooting for the Villa, especially at the start of our season, perception goes along way.
Tim brought Guzan back into the starting line up, and to be fair to the lad he had quite a good game, even if one or two of his goal kicks went astray. Hopefully Guzan will practice very hard at getting his distribution better because his shot stopping is as good as any another goalkeeper out there.
And how about our on field captain Richards, apart from one stray pass he was quite brilliant, and Clarky beside him played very well too, could be a great partnership! Amavi seems to have started where he left off in the friendly matches, playing brilliantly!!! Hopefully he keeps up the good work without alerting anyone out there for a big money move, but for the moment he’s ours, so bugger off!!!
My mate who I travel with on the away fixtures gave Idrissa Gueye the man of the match and I thought he had quite a good match, But my MOTM went to Rudy Gestede, I know he was a second half sub, but to hold up the ball the way he did, threading a few quality passes and then topping it off with the winning goal was quite amazing, he could our next cult hero.
So there are a lot of happy Villans in the footballing world at the moment, also there are plenty of people who are brassed off that we dare to ruin their predictions for a Bournemouth win. Ahhh life is sweet at the moment, and long may it continue. UTV
I dont think its a bad thing for former players to have a go at the club. It gives more media coverage and might put a bit of pressure on the owner to spend money. We know that fan pressure makes no difference! There are pundits like micky quinn who predict liverpool to win the league every season and look a right tw@t.
