Patrick Bamford has expressed that he was embarrassed after going to ground when he fooled the referee that he had been pushed buy Anwar El Ghazi during the fiery play off clash between Leeds United and Aston Villa last season at Elland Road . El Ghazi was wrongly sent off after the Aston Villa and the Leeds United football players got into a heated melee after Bamford’s theatrics. Rather than kicking the ball out of play, so that the Villa player could get some medical attention, Leeds continued to play the game and slotted the ball past Jed Steer to score a goal.
It’s quite funny writing this post and remembering this match last year. I’m chuckling to myself thinking about that whole situation surrounding that moment and thinking to myself, that we were also partly to blame for that whole situation happening. Now, does Bamford deserve to feel the cringe for his part in that whole episode? Of course he does, ha ha ha! So feel the cringe Bamford, feel the cringe.
But I remember being pretty upset with us expecting Leeds to just kick the ball out of play, because that is something we might have done. We should have stayed alert to the danger at all times. Look at what happened when they sportingly let us run the ball into the back of their net to level up the score. Their defender, whose name slips my mind, found it very hard, and even slightly tackled Albert Adomah to try and prevent him from scoring. It was so hard for their defender to just let him score. It was alien for him to do that, and I totally get it.
Anyways, that was a while back, but it was quite fun writing this post thinking of Bamford’s antics. So feel The cringe Bamford, feel the cringe ha ha ha. UTV
