Just When You Think It Couldn’t Get Any Worse: They Do!!!
Well, so much for Cowan’s and Given coming in to save our season, the reality is nothing has changed, in fact things are worse. But no blame can put at the feet of those two. The blame solely lies with The Three Stooges, Lambert, Lerner and Faulkner.
If Lerner had a backbone then he would have known that there were problems with Villa in early December 2013, that’s when I realised that Lambert was out of his depth at the Villa. We took a chance on a young hungry manager with new ideas to revitalise Villa, but the truth is we have gone backwards under him, and that’s when Lambert should have got the sack.
Today’s performance epitomised everything that is almost wrong at the Villa. We lacked heart, desire, skill and guile and any other word you could use to describe our current situation and that is a reflection of our manager. The title of my post is a bit misleading, Just When You Think It Couldn’t Get Any Worse, well, things could get worse, you know what I’m talking about don’t you? That’s right – “Relegation!”
God only knows when we’re going to get our next win or draw. You would have to say that we’re second favourites in all our remaining matches and that could be curtains for us. UTV
This is why I have had to stop going to the games. I was coming home so angry that I was taking out my frustration on my loved one’s.
I have followed the Villa for 47 years. I have had the despair & desolation of Div 3, and the euphoria of Highbury / Rotterdam + a few stops along the way, but never have I witnessed a Villa team that lacks pride, passion, commitment & ability like this current one.
Yes! Players are to blame, but you pay peanuts you know what you’re going to get.
Championship football? We would not even have the ability to get out of that. It is a long road back, & I believe we are in for more heartache.
Hi Terry…I hear you loud & clear…You express pretty much the way a lot of Villa fans are feeling at moment…Things could get worse this season, but hopefully they don’t…After next weeks match against Hull, things should be more clear along with other football results…For me, I’m constantly walking around with butterfly’s in my stomach, that’s because we try to work things out before they happen and it’s usually the negative scenarios we concentrate on…All I know is there could be more twist and turns to come and things aren’t as straight forward as they appear…Who knows what the future holds for our beloved Aston Villa.
