Jack Grealish, The Stay Away Villa Fans, And We’re Not Down Yet!!!

christianOn 81 minutes and when it sunk in that we could lose this match 2-3, and what the implications of a defeat might hold for our season, I felt as if my whole world had almost come to an end! But then, the Dark Knight, One Christian Benteke like the super hero that he is, scored a wonderful free kick that earned us a point, which could keep us in the Premiership.

Yes I wanted to win the match and yes it would have gone a long way to securing our survival in this league, but when there’s seven minutes left to play and your staring defeat in the face, a point didn’t seem so bad to me as I was driving away from Villa Park. We’re not down yet, and there’s going to be a few twist and turns on the last leg of our short remaining road this season.

But if we try to play the way we did last night in our remaining games, then I believe we could surprise a few sides we’re yet to play, starting with Spurs on Saturday. Tim Sherwood will want to put one over his old club, and if we can tighten up a little at the back, let’s go to White Hart Lane and give them a match. WE CAN DO THIS!!!

I’d like to pay special tribute to Jack Grealish. Admittedly, I was very surprised to see his name in the starting line up last night, but the young lad played an absolute blinder. Yes, there are some things he’s lacking, and in time he will improve, but even with these minor little issues, Jack was an asset to team last night, I really mean it! Well-done Jack

The Stay Away Fans

Aston Villa originates from the second city and we have a rich history, we also regard ourselves as a big football club. Yes the last five years haven’t been the best for the fans, but when we needed a full house for what was billed as our most important match this season, we couldn’t even come near to filling up Villa Park, it’s a disgrace!!!

I’m not talking about the fans that live a million miles away from Villa Park, and I’m not talking about the fans that can’t afford to attend every match or the ones who have work commitments, I do understand some people’s genuine situations. But are you telling me that we haven’t got enough fans in the second city that couldn’t have made it to the match last night!!! Our club needed you, and you stayed away!!! You know who you are; you COULD have made the trip to Villa Park last night!!! You’re letting your club down!!!

It always baffles me when the Big Boys show up at Villa Park and we near enough fill the ground out, and for what, to watch us most probably lose! Yet a team that we have a chance of beating visits Villa Park and the match holds a lot of water in terms of our Premiership survival, and we can’t even get close to a sell out, amazing!!! I keep on hearing people saying, ‘We’re A Big Club’, well prove that we are, and get down Villa Park and start supporting your team! UTV

  1. I couldn’t agree more when it comes to your comments regarding stay-away fans.
We have a car full for every home game and travel to most away games – only missed two all season – and yet its a 210-mile round trip to Villa Park which means getting off work early for evening kick-offs so we can leave at 4pm.
I’m sick of hearing supporters tell me ‘I’ve followed Villa for years but the last few years have killed it for me’.
Yet I bet every one of those so-called fans will be after Wembley tickets.
    Get a grip.
We the fans can, and must, play our part.
Lets make sure Villa park is packed to the rafters with loyal noisy fans for every remaining home game and we sell-out our allocation for every remaining away game.

  2. I’ll make it short and sweet !! Put the price of the seats and an affordable price to get fans in families young fans and we’d have a full house instead of charging unaffordable prices and having empty seats
