So the board of Aston Villa have made their choice of manager for our football club, Remi Garde. Garde was the favourite of many Villa Twitter accounts, so when he was appointed as the man in charge, they all got their wish. Garde wouldn’t have been my first or second choice, as I hadn’t heard much about him. But now I’ve taken a little time out to look into this fellow’s career and frankly, I still wouldn’t have chosen him.
Garde has got his work cut out here at the Villa, and for the French sports writers and the Villa European football specialists who pushed for Garde’s appointment, they’ll feel that the best man has been chosen for this very hard job. You know it’s very hard to get behind someone who you think shouldn’t have been appointed to your football club (Alex McLiesh being another), but the hard work of supporting your club has to go on, especially when the board have turned us into the laughing-stock of the Premiership.
Unlike any other new manager that’s been here before in the past, my beady eye is going to be especially fine-tuned to anything that I think Remi Garde might do wrong. He’ll be getting no time for bedding-in from me unlike others before, he hasn’t got time, we’re in a dogfight and desperate and I want nothing less than a point tomorrow. If anyone thinks I’m being a little harsh, then it’s tuff!!! But let me remind you where we are in the league now, bottom on four points, six points behind Newcastle in 17th and now we have the man who’s going to turn this nightmare around, ha ha ha!!!
Oh Remi, if you save us this season, I’ll run down New St with a string of Garlic around my neck, singing the French national anthem! UTV
Couldn’t agree more and if he actually turns out to be our saviour I’ll join you down New St.
The only optimistic thing I can think is that nobody is optimistic about his appointment whereas with each appointment over the last 4/5 years we always have an air of optimism that this is the one. Hopefully our lack of optimism with this appointment will be proved wrong, forever optimistic UTV

Tomorrow is about an improved performance from the villa and any points will be a bonus
And we will stay up as we have 27 games to get it right
