Joleon Lescott took to social media at the end of our match against Liverpool on Sunday, tweeting a picture of a top of the range sports car, for what most people deemed a response to the stick he was getting on various social media outlets.
Lescott later clarified that the photo was mistakenly tweeted due to his phone being in his pocket and somehow being tweeted out. One thing that we’ve definitely learned about Lescott, is that he’s got a great sense of humour if he expects anyone to believe that load of B******S.
But the question is, “Do players have a right to react to criticism or abuse when representing our football club?” Personally, I think that any person has a right to reply when being criticised or abused.
“Should we be offended by the level of the reply from a player?” For me, all is fair in love and war, so if you give it, you shouldn’t complain if you get a bit back, no matter how hard done by you might feel.
Some people think that footballers should rise above it all, they should be professional; they can take whatever abuse comes their way, because they’re on loads of money, right? What a load of B******S that is too!
I’ve never understood why any fan would want to abuse a player of their own in the most vile way, I don’t agree with it, it’s something that I wouldn’t do, but I wouldn’t tell anyone to stop, it’s up to them.
Players are human beings, they get fed up like anyone else and they lash out, they can also be a little over sensitive, like anyone else! It’s hard to turn a blind eye to stuff, especially if you don’t think you deserve it. But for me, no Aston Villa representative is above criticism, and I’ll make sure it comes their way if I think they deserve it. UTV
Regardless of what Lescott did or not’ what was totally wrong was the
Way the whole team reacted.in the match and after. The whole team
Showed utter disregard for the fans, management and what Avfc represent .
The new chairman and manager must get rid of the toxic players and also
those who recruited this shambles of a squad . No excuses heads must
Roll.first the team must be culled, ready for the 100million short fall this poor
squad has brought about. The recent new manager who inherited this shambles, has also been treated badly. Lerner appointed Hollis to axe what’s
Wrong. Start with players and Lescott by his actions is the first. Remi Garde
Needs backing,ASAP .
not backing, sacking, its too late for just backing him verbally, he can’t sign players, he can’t sell players, nobody would want them anyway, get a new man in, he’ll have 10 games to see what he’s getting, and what he needs, kick out garde and the whole club above tea lady can have a p45, otherwise we might be the next portsmouth and end up in div2
no, lescott does not have the right, he has to show he gives a dammn first.
