My God we needed that!!! You know something, if you would have asked me last night or anytime before, I would have said there was no chance of me going to the match today with all the crap we’ve been going through as fans. But when I woke up this morning, I couldn’t wait for the Villa ticket office to open, and thank goodness I bought one, because Villa had 3 pieces of good news today.
When I bought my ticket this morning, I did so not expecting anything like the day would eventually turn out. Just as I was walking into Villa Park, a friend of mine called me to give me the good news, that Fabian Delph had just signed a new deal to stay at the Villa. The news spread like wild-fire amongst the Villa faithful who were milling around the William McGregor statue. You could sense that the Villa fans had received some genuinely good news for once. Credit goes to Aston Villa football club for releasing the news of the Delph signing just before the match started, they would have known that the good news would go along way to lifting the spirits of the fans. And thank you Fabian, for choosing to stay at the Villa.
The first half action from a Villa point of view was one to forget, but fair play to the lads, their defensive display kept the Bournemouth high scorers at bay to keep Villa in the game. Our second bit of good news was the precious goals that Gil (who was my man of the match) and Weimann scored, which would eventually get our third bit of good news, a win! You just can’t believe how much we needed this, really!
Goals, a win, and Fabian Delph signing a new contract!!! Wow, 3 bits of good news and boy we needed something like that, I just can’t emphasise! Lets hope we can take this good news into our next match when we play Arsenal. But for now, I’m going to enjoy the moment, and one last thing, well done Aston Villa. UTV
