Gary Gardner and Callum Robinson have both signed new two-year deals with Aston Villa.
Gary Gardner hasn’t been seen regularly around Villa Park for quite some time due to loan spells and mainly injury. I really can’t remember many performances from the few times he’s played at Villa, but fellow Villans who have watched him closely, have informed me that if he stays injury free and gets a good run in the first team, we’ve got a very special player.
Callum Robinson is a product of the Villa youth system. As a winner of the NextGen Series, he deserves special praise for overcoming the vast wealth of Chelsea’s youth system and bringing the title home to Villa Park with his fellow teammates.
Pity these two youngsters have had to watch the first team struggle for four seasons. Introducing youngsters in a successful side is probably the best way to begin your professional career. Never the less, they must be very excited, especially Callum Robinson. Gary Gardner has already had a small taste of the professional game and will look to kick on. Good Luck Lads. UTV
