When things get bad and there isn’t any light at the end of the tunnel, football fans usually reminisce back to good times to make themselves feel better. They might get out an old book documenting Villa’s great history, leaving out the bad parts and only focusing on the good of course.
They might get out some old DVD’s or maybe they might head straight to YouTube and watch some very old memorable clips of Aston Villa when they were winning league titles and cups. I tend to write something on my blog, talk on the phone, or meet with fellow Villa fans and just have a chat about how bad things are.
Whether it’s on the phone or social media, the Big Club question always seems to pops up, and it does my flipping head in! There are many other things relating to Aston Villa I would rather talk about, other than whether we are a big club, doesn’t it just seem a wee bit desperate and tiresome to you?
I even listen to the pundits on the TV and radio talking about Villa being a big club, and in the next breath, they’re selling all our best players to Super-Duper Big Clubs, ha ha!!! Don’t you just feel a little bit patronised by that whole topic, especially the way we’ve been run as a club for many years?
I don’t want to upset anyone at these moments of reflection, so while some cry themselves into a state on whether we’re a big club or not, ok ok ok, we are a big club!!! but we’re not a Super-Duper Big Club! Unless I’m trying to rub someone up the wrong way from another club like Manchester City of course! UTV
we are a big club,,,, this is down to the trophy cabinet and crowds over the years, history and tradition,,,
we are a right mess now though,,,,,,
but we were doomed to this once learner lost interest,,,
a ship with no one at the control will eventually hit the rocks and sink
he has been a disaster for this club
everything he touches turns rotten
We’re a good little club. Only Lerner and his team have the ability and experience to get us out of this mess. I know you will all say he is the problem. However he is the only reason apart from gabby that we are still in the premiership at the moment.
