Saturday Tea Time
Forget the last match of the season against Tottenham for knowing our Premiership status, all will be revealed on Saturday evening and the unknown is causing high anxiety amongst the Villa fans.
You have two camps of thought:
Camp 1: Are the Villa fans who look at the fixture list for any given football match and usually award the win to the perceived strong side. Even though Villa is at a critical part of the season, (because we could still be relegated) their beliefs become stronger, even though over the years, they’ve been apart of the events that I’m about to out line in Camp 2.
Camp 2: Of which I’m apart of, have the thought that you don’t truly know the outcome of a football match “until the fat lady sings.” We’re all too aware that things don’t always go according to plan, especially when you’re a fan of Villa.
We’ve seen this many times over the years, when teams going through an extremely bad patch of form, come to Villa Park and turn us over like they invented the game. Take Fulham’s win at Villa Park for instance, they came to Villa Park with the form of one win in five, yes, Villa had just been beaten heavily in their past two matches, but with the Chelsea win still fresh in our minds, you might of have backed us for the home win to kick-start ourselves out of our mini slump of from. But this rarely happens to the Villa, and deep down, Camp 1 knows this.
Twist And Turns
All I’m saying is, things have a funny way of jumping up and biting you on the ass, especially when you least expect it. I wish I could be as confident as the Camp 1 brigade, but I’m not, I guess I’ve been bitten on the ass to many times. But I do believe that if Saturday’s football results don’t go in our favour, then going to Whit Hart Lane on the last day of the season might prove to be a bridge to far for our Premiership status unfortunately.
