Aston Villa go into the match against Spurs with no hope of winning in my opinion, maybe a lucky draw if we score first, but that’s just wishful thinking on my part. This is what being a Villa fan is about these days. Ever since MON left our club and Randy Lerner withdrew his financial support, it’s been an absolute nightmare; mind you, I wouldn’t trust Lambert with £40 let alone a £40million in any transfer window past or present.
Spurs are currently going through a bad run of form with Mauricio Pochettino feeling the pressure. Spurs will be looking to kick-start their season with an away win. We all know that kick-starts to our seasons never happen for us, so trying to find some reason for us winning tomorrow is pointless, plus we’re really rubbish at the moment. Tottenham has dominated us for many years, we’ve lost 9 matches, drawn 3, with our last league win coming way back in the 2008/09 season, that’s 13 matches ago, ‘Flipping Terrible’!!!
Not even a win against Tottenham tomorrow will enable us to leapfrog over West Bromwich Albion after they won away at Leicester today, which I’m being reminded constantly about. Sorry I can’t be more optimistic about this match tomorrow; to try and portray positivity would make me feel even worse. So, you know where I stand on tomorrows match. Perhaps you can give me some sort of encouragement, but I doubt it very much. UTV
Oh dear, what bit of hope I had has been snuffed away from reading your post, in fact, I’ll slip the noose around my neck now rather than 6ish tomorrow. But hold on, its not my neck that’s on the line here. Let’s hope if we do go down tomorrow that Spurs fill their boots and get a hat full because then the pressure will mount on Lambert. We can then only hope he walks away and we ask Moyle’s to step in. Of course I want Villa to win and a lot depends upon Lambert’s tactics and whether he dares to try and attack! As I’ve said before, this Villa squad is not as bad as current league form and position suggests. I think your concerns are fully justified, a bad loss tomorrow and should Lambert stay will spell disaster. We may well have to endure Lambert until we play the Albion! Albion do seem to have the knack of seeing off other teams management! Let’s hope it doesn’t get to that.
Spurs fan here (with a soft spot for Villa). Both teams are having a terrible time at the moment and neither side should feel optimistic. However, as you point out, Spurs do have the hoodoo over Villa and have done well in matches against the midlands team in recent years. Painful to think now that after two games Spurs were top of the Prem and VIlla in second or third. It is very hard to predict the outcome of Premier League matches (ask Man City and Liverpool) so I wouldn’t try to do so. Spurs are certainly capable winning but we’ll have to see. I notice Mark Lawreson was dissing Spurs’ chances in this one, but he’s always had a downer on Tottenham so I try not to listen to him. I hope it’s a good game with a few goals, with more going in the Villa net than the Spurs net. Best of luck for the rest of the season anyway. PS love the picture you put with this blog.
Unlike Steve; I like you blogger haven’t got much hope for a win; although Steve’s start to his post did make me chuckle. With our current form in the league it’s hard to see past a win for the spuds. I just hope that they can put some sort of a performance in and for the big man to gain some more fitness for the forth coming matches ahead.
I’m spurs and I have slim hope of us getting a point. My ol man was villa. He moved to london. That’s where I turned up so spurs it was and am. I always look out for your results. My second team if you can really have one. We really need the points tomorrow but good luck and all the very best for the season after tomorrow. Coys!
we can beat spurs,,, i have had a premonition it will be a goal fest with villa nicking a last gasp winner to make it 5-4,,,, all spurs goals will be offside, own,or raboners or what ever they are called from the half way line,,
and for paul lambert it will be a double celebration as he finds out he is to be knighted for services for facial hair which will incense roy keane causing him to resign and go back to the emerald isle, taking grealish with him as his fag,,,
The difference is Spurs chairman does not take bad results
Lightly . Our chairman owner loves failures. And give long
Contracts as a reward. Lamberts nine lives are running
Out p45ready
I am a spurs suporter and am not sure that we will beat them, and I do not agree about chairmen.
Look at Levy who always seem to get rid of good managers and place them with managers like AVB and Pochettino whos tacticts never seem to work, and then get rid of them from preaseure from the fans
Having suported Spurs for 50 years have now given, as its the same old story as these managers blaim the players
Don’t worry. You will come to the small lane and get the 3 points back. Everyone else does.
